NOTE: Class skips June 19. "Building and Firing Large Scale Work - Cone 6 and Cone 10 Glaze Firing" As an independent study course, students will have the opportunity to continue their series of work, and build it on a larger scale. Guidance will be given to each student as we consider the concept of the artwork, and techniques specific to each piece as we discuss strategies of loading and glazing the work. We will primarily use the small gas kiln (the Baby Dragon) to bisque and glaze fire work. Instructor: Katy McDougal Location: Handbuilding Studio Day/TIme: Mondays, 9:30-12:00 PM Studio Access Hours: Monday-Friday: 12:30 - 6:30 PM Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM For the health and safety of Callanwolde instructors, students, and staff, we have the following Covid safety protocols in place: - OPTIONAL masking for those that certify their vaccination status. - MANDATORY masking for those who wish to not disclose vaccination status. - Acceptable masks are surgical, cloth, or N-95/KN-95. When you complete your registration, your confirmation email will have a link to a vaccine verification form. You do NOT need to complete the form if you certified your status for a prior quarter.
