- To celebrate the holiday season
- The 3K course is easy -- just a short uphill, a downhill, and back
- You see Christmas decorations and some Hanukiahs all along the course
- The 8K course runs to the bottom of that hill and then turns right to an uphill through a beautiful forest trail, but it's harder than climbing Masada!
- ... and back
- Pre-race candle-lighting ceremony before the 8K
- Post-race latkes with applesauce and hot coffee on-site after the 8K

- 2:45 PM: Registration opens on-site -- you will receive a bib number, timing chip, and absolutely GORGEOUS t-shirt
- 3:15 PM: 3000 meters
- 3:30 PM: Candle-lighting ceremony
- 3:45 PM: 8000 meters
- 4:30 PM: Latkes with applesauce and hot coffee
