Adult Swim Lessons - Learning the Basics
NO CLASS ON 4/8.
This course introduces teens and adults to navigating an aquatic environment in a safe, positive, and supportive way. Participants will have aquatic questions answered and build confidence learning the basics of swimming and floating.
Skills taught include:
- Breathing and blowing bubbles out
- Floating with support
- Kicking with kickboard and support
- Arm and leg motion in water
- How to use floatation devices correctly
- Reaching underwater for objects
Safety tips learned are geared towards positively building confidence and overcoming fear in and around water.
NO LATER THAN 5 business days prior to the first day of class. No refunds issued after class has started. All refunds are subject to a $7 service charge per activity unless class/activity is cancelled by the City of Antioch Recreation Department. Refunds take up to 3-6 weeks to receive in the mail. No refunds for non-attendance, one day workshops/classes or materials fees.
