Description

Learn how to use a pottery wheel to throw functional artwork, such as vases, mugs, bowls, and plates! Demonstrations will cover wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, decorating, and glazing techniques. Students will also learn about the kiln firing process. This class is perfect for beginners and those who need a refresher if they haven’t thrown in quite some time.
All participants must be 18 or olderThe A2AC does not make exceptions to the age minimum for any reason.Supply Notes:
This class includes 26 of hours of independent studio time, 25 pounds of clay, all firing, slips and glazing supplies. New students will need to purchase a basic wheel throwing kit, available at the first class session or in the online shop.
No refunds, pro-ration, or make-up sessions will be provided due to missed class sessions for any reason, including illness and unexpected life events.

Non-Refundable Deposit10% of tuition for classes and workshops is considered a non-refundable deposit.

Cancellations UP TO 5 days before the start of a class or workshop:A full refund will be issued minus the 10% non-refundable deposit.
Cancellations WITHIN 5 days before the start of a class or workshop:No refunds will be issued for any reason, including illness.
*Refunds may take up to 30 days to process.
Student AbsencesFor the best experience, we encourage students to attend class on time and regularly.We do not provide make-up classes or additional instruction outside of class.

Waitlist PolicyFor those who have joined a waitlist for a class: If space becomes available in a given class, we will e-mail a registration link to EVERYONE who is on that waitlist and the first person to register will receive the space.
If you you receive a notification that a space has come available and click on the registration link and the class is already full, this means someone else on the waitlist already registered for the space and there are no additional spaces available. If another space opens, we will repeat the process.
Covid-19 Policy:
Vaccinations and masks are encouraged, but not required for students attending classes. The A2AC reserves the right to update this policy at any time during the term in response to changing circumstances.
