Description
Singers and instrumentalists speak different languages. While it’s common for singers to feel inferior to the musicians in the band, in reality, it’s the singer who is the closest connection to the audience and must be able to command the band and the stage. Whether you know it or not, singers are arrangers—and this course will teach you everything you need to know to realize your musical vision. You’ll learn how to create a chord chart for the song you want to sing (in the right key for you) with little-to-no music theory knowledge. You’ll learn how to rehearse and lead a band by using common terms musicians will respond to, and how to confidently throw physical cues while performing to ensure you get the results you want. You’ll also have a greater understanding of the function of each instrument in the rhythm section, further empowering your musical ideas. By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools to confidently front and lead a band. Location: Agoura Hills Recreation Center *Instructor: Mr. Michael
