About this event
Multi-color, Multi-plate Linocut Printmaking (3 sessions) High School - Adults | All Skill Levels Instructor: Juliette Montague Saturdays, January 24 & 31, February 7 10:00am – 2:00pm In this workshop, students will explore the vibrant possibilities of color through the Jigsaw technique in linocut printmaking. This process involves cutting a single linoleum block into multiple pieces, inking each section separately, and then carefully reassembling the pieces like a puzzle before printing. By doing so, artists can achieve a rich, multi-colored image in a single pass through the press. Participants will experiment with color relationships, registration, and composition while learning how to balance precision with creativity. The Jigsaw method encourages playful exploration—each cut of the block opens new opportunities for visual texture, layering, and expressive mark-making. By the end of the workshop, students will have produced their own multi-color prints and gained hands-on experience in an inventive printmaking technique that combines craftsmanship and experimentation. FEE: $175 Painting/Drawing Classroom, 2nd Level Approx. Cost of Materials: $20 Image Credit: Juliette Montague
