Description
For Children 10-14 years who have completed Swimmer 9/ Star Patrol but are not eligible for Bronze Medallion.
Bronze Star develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving skill and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke mechanics, acquire self-rescue skills, and apply fitness principals in training workouts. Bronze Star is excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion and provide a fun introduction to lifesaving sport.
Completion Criteria:
• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.
• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.

• Lifesaving - Bronze Medallion
Lifesaving - Bronze Star awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society. Manuals recommended but not required for the course (available at the pool):• Canadian Lifesaving Manual.

The following items must be purchased in order to participate:
1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve
1 whistle (recommended Fox 40)100 % attendance and participation are required.
2nd floor spectating closes to public at 5:00pm. Parents/Guardians wishing to stay onsite will be directed to the lower lounge at 5:00pm.
Candidates are encouraged to bring goggles. Candidates are required to bring long-sleeved shirt & pants to swim in for some items.
