Description
This Lifesaving and Swim for Life Instructor recertification is an 8-hour course that re-certifies participants in Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor. Successful participants will receive re-certification in the course. Program includes classroom and water activities - 100 % attendance and participation are required. Certification of this award is current for 2 years.
Completion Criteria:
• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.
• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.
Pre-Course Requirements:
• Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor (Candidates must show proof of certifications to their instructor at the beginning of the class)
Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor Recertification awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society.
The program includes classroom and water activities 100 % attendance and participation are required.
Participants are required to bring all of their Lifesaving manuals to the course: • Canadian Lifesaving Manual • Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor Kit: o Swim for Life- Award Guide o Swim Patrol Award Guide o Instructor Manual o Swim and Lifesaving Instructor Manual o Bronze Medals Award Guide o Bronze Medallion Candidate Workbook o Bronze Cross Candidate Workbook
The following items are required in order to participate in this course: • 1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve• 1 whistle (recommended Fox 40)These items may be purchased at this facility or acquired independently.
