INSTRUCTOR: Tracy and Jordan Mohr LOCATION: LOWER SCHOOL SCIENCE LAB PICK UP IS IN THE SCIENCE LAB 6 WEEKS The Kids Cooking Connection- Gather & Share - In this six-week session, young chefs will discover that cooking is about more than following a recipe. It is also about creativity, connection, and making food that brings people together. With fall, Halloween, football season, Thanksgiving, and the holidays as inspiration, each week introduces a new hands-on challenge while giving chefs plenty of room to make their own choices. Chefs will create game-day bites, design their own sweet-and-salty Halloween popcorn combinations, work together to build four different sharing boards, explore the stories and traditions behind family foods, learn the difference between cooking and baking, and finish the session by preparing food meant to be enjoyed together. Along the way, they'll practice flavor pairing, texture, presentation, teamwork, measuring, hospitality, and thinking like a chef. Students will be encouraged to experiment, taste, adjust, and explain their choices. Most importantly, Gather & Share teaches a lesson that reaches beyond the kitchen: Good food isn't only something we make. It's something we share.
