Step into the fire and learn to move metal with your hands. This beginner blacksmithing course is an introduction to the rhythm of hammer and heat, where steel softens, shifts, and begins to take form under your guidance. Working with traditional tools, you’ll learn foundational forging techniques including tapering, drawing out, forging square to round (and back again), as well as forming points, bends, and twists. This is a hands-on, immersive experience. You won’t just watch…you’ll make. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a small collection of functional pieces such as hooks, handles, or a fire poker; each one shaped by your own hand. No prior experience is needed; just a willingness to step in, listen, and strike.
