Description

Get creative this holiday season and make your own Ceramic Candle Holders! This 2-Day workshop is led by ceramics instructor Xenia Shuman who will demo and provide a step by step guide to creating and building your candle holders. Candle holders will be pine tree shaped and will include a detachable saucer base. Students will learn concepts of building with slabs of clay and utilizing clay forms to make their tree shape. Xenia will also demo carving holes and shapes to let light shine through. This is a great workshop for those at any skill level or for those with little to no experience. Make your candle holders for your own use or gift them to a loved one!

The first meeting date on December 4th is focused around creating and building your candle holders. This day will last 3 hours and will be a bit messy. The second meeting date on December 11th will focus on glazing your candle holders, which is the final step to completing them and takes less time. finished candle holders will be ready to pick up no later than December 18th (may be earlier depending on firing times)
Instructor Xenia is incredibly welcoming and fosters a fun environment. This is a great workshop to take as an activity with friends/family before the holidays or to get some creative alone time away from the stress of the holidays!There is a $35 fee which covers the cost of materials.
