Fermentation is one of humanity's oldest food preservation techniques. In this beginner-friendly class, we'll explore the basics of lacto-fermentation, discuss food safety, and create a seasonal vegetable ferment together. You'll learn how salt helps beneficial microbes thrive while preserving food and creating delicious flavors. This class includes a culinary garden walk.

Participants will:
• Take a culinary garden walk
• Learn fermentation science and safety
• Prepare a seasonal ferment
• Discuss traditional preservation methods

Bring:
• Storage container if desired
• Comfortable walking shoes
