About this event
Baylor TIP Camp for 4th-7th graders is a day camp option. Morning course offerings will run from 9am to noon, and afternoon courses run from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Lunch is included only with registration for BOTH morning and afternoon courses. Powering the City: Engineering, Energy, and Urban Design Become an urban designer and engineer as you imagine, design, and build a model city from the ground up. You will plan neighborhoods, infrastructure, and public spaces, then bring your city to life by wiring buildings and streets with paper circuits and mini lights. Along the way, you will explore how energy powers a city, comparing renewable and non-renewable energy sources and considering how energy choices shape sustainability and daily life. You will document each stage of your city’s growth using stop-motion video, capturing the transformation from blueprint to bustling metropolis. By the end of the course, you will have a powered model city, a creative stop-motion film that tells its story, and a deeper understanding of how engineering, energy, and design come together to shape the world around you.
