About this event
The forecast is calling for fun! Discover how meteorologists predict everything from gentle breezes to powerful storms by working in teams to build your own weather station. Using everyday materials, you will build a spinning anemometer to measure wind speed, a rain gauge to track precipitation, and a working barometer that responds to changes in air pressure. With your weather station complete, it will be time to put each instrument to the test by collecting observations, recording data, and comparing results with your classmates. Along the way, you'll uncover how wind, rain, and air pressure work together to shape the weather around us and how careful observations help scientists provide the information that farmers, pilots, and emergency planners rely on every day.
