Teacher: Ms. Sophie We're excited to introduce a new chapter for ceramics at Laurence! Led by our very own Ms. Sophie from the Art Department, this hands-on class invites students to explore the art of working with clay while helping shape the future of our growing ceramics program. Students will experiment with both functional and decorative projects as they learn foundational hand-building techniques, develop creative problem-solving skills, and discover pottery traditions from cultures around the world. Each project will encourage artistic expression while strengthening fine motor skills, craftsmanship, and confidence. One of the most exciting additions to the program is Laurence's newly revitalized kiln, allowing students to experience the complete ceramic process, from shaping raw clay to glazing and firing their finished creations right here on campus. As we continue building our in-house ceramics studio, students will have the unique opportunity to experiment with new tools, techniques, and creative projects throughout the trimester.
