This course begins where all great screen performance does: with the actor. Before we touch a camera, we build the foundation: a fully realized character and the presence to inhabit them truthfully in the moment. We'll take an introductory look at the Method, one of film's most enduring and often misunderstood acting traditions, separating the mythology from the practice and exploring a set of core exercises that make it immediately useful on screen.

From there, we turn our attention outward to the camera itself and the craft of working with it. You'll learn the unwritten language of the set: marks, blocking, frame awareness, and how to move in ways that serve both the scene and the shot. We'll cover set etiquette, industry terminology, and the practical strategies that help actors feel confident and collaborative on a professional production.

By the end of the course, you'll understand that the camera doesn't change what acting is. It just asks you to trust it more deeply.
