About this event
The COMC is on Thursday October 29th from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM (ET) at the University of Toronto - St. George campus. The exact contest location will be emailed to registrants 1 week prior to the contest. Check in starts at 3:00pm. Please arrive no later than 3:15pm. The Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) is Canada’s premier national mathematics competition open to any student with an interest in and grasp of high school math. It is also the first exam on the road to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The purpose of the COMC is to encourage students to explore, discover, and learn more about mathematics and problem solving. The competition serves to provide teachers with a unique student enrichment activity during the fall term. Students writing at the University of Toronto write within the Competitive Division time frame, which is eligible for prize money. Since the registration fees are less than our $50 refund administration fee, refunds will NOT be provided for math contest registrations. Before you register, please confirm with your child's school that they are not already offering this contest. Many schools coordinate contest registrations internally, and students only need to be registered through one organization.
