Teachers: Ms. Colson Intro and bio This club will feature a read aloud component of a book/books that were also adapted into movies. We will read the book aloud together, do activities surrounding the book, and then move toward watching the film version as we complete the book. WE will also compare/contrast how the movies and the books are similar/different. Questions such as: “What did the movie change? What did the movie leave out or add? Which characters were true to the author’s description? Was the setting what you imagined? (why or why not?0 Are you glad you saw the movie or do you wish you had skipped it? Why do you think that someone picked this book to turn into a movie?” Some examples of books could be (but are not limited to): Ages 5-7= Paddington, Clifford, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Polar Xrpress, Horton Hears a Who, The Bad Guys (book series), Where the Wild Things Are, The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, Stuart Little Ages 8-10= Jumanji, Zathura, Polar Express, Home Alone, Pan & Wendy, Jumanji, Clifford, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Lyle Lyle Crocodile
