If you enjoy being outdoors in the winter, want to encounter lost trails or trails slightly off the beaten paths, and share in good camaraderie, then Rambles might be for you. We will venture out on a trail within 40 miles of Skowhegan once a month between October and March to enjoy the changing seasons. Please be aware that due to diminishing winter daylight outings will start at various times, sometimes as early as 11:00 a.m.. Good walking shoes, warm winter boots, ice creepers, snowshoes, comfortable layered clothing, hats and mittens and a yen to explore are the essential elements needed. These hikes will be suitable for most outdoor active people. Classes will meet on the second Tuesday of each month (dependent on the weather) and last about two hours. The first Ramble will be on November 10, 2026. Prior to November 10, the instructor will contact anyone who has not previously participated to schedule a brief orientation.
