About this event
TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS), owned by 360training, is the industry standard for responsible alcohol server certification. It trains bartenders, servers, and retailers on how to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and sales to minors. Certification is typically required by bars or insurance companies and is generally valid for 3 years. The curriculum focuses on three core areas: Information, Skills Training, and Practice/Rehearsal. Key modules taught include:Identifying Intoxication: Recognizing behavioral cues, Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limits, and the effects of mixing alcohol with other drugs.Checking IDs: The "FEEL" method (Feel, Examine, Ask, Return) to spot fake or altered IDs.Intervention Strategies: How to refuse service politely, de-escalate confrontations, and handle difficult situations safely.State/Local Laws: Jurisdiction-specific regulations and liability laws. This class will use the TiPS method and all attendees will take the exam to become TiPS certified! Note: This class will not involve any mixology, demonstration, beverages or consumption, it is informational only!
