About this event
Calling All Curious Minds! We need YOU for a search and rescue mission! In this camp, you’ll become an engineer as you build, code, and design search and rescue robots that can navigate natural disasters, deliver vital supplies to remote areas, and help people in need. Using programmable and modular VEX Robotics kits with snap-based rods, controller, multi-port brain, and sensors, learn how robots are used in disaster relief as you and your teammates tackle daily challenges that mimic real-life search and rescue scenarios. Get ready to: * Simulate exploring a collapsed building by programing your robot to autonomously navigate a maze * Model the rapid delivery of food and water to disaster sites by using your robot as a remote-controlled vehicle and racing to move cubes between two points * Clear “debris” from a rockslide by building a clawbot that can lift and move objects. Along the way, you’ll learn about the engineering design process, the fundamentals of mechanical systems, and how to program a computer. No prior experience required! If you’re curious, love solving problems, and want to use technology to help others, this is the camp for you. Are you ready for your rescue mission?
