Where do the rummage sales take place?
The rummage sales take place in the north parking lot of the San Marcos Senior Center at 111 Richmar Avenue, San Marcos, CA 92069.
When do the parking lot sales take place?
The rummage sales take place on a Saturday in spring and a Saturday in late summer.
What are the hours?
Rummage sales take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Do sellers have to stay the entire time?
Yes, sellers must stay for the entire length of the event.
What is the cost?
The NON-REFUNDABLE fee for one (1) parking space is $20.
Can sellers purchase more than one space?
Yes, if sellers would like to purchase more than one (1) space, they must register again with a second $20 fee. Maximum of two (2) spaces per seller.
When are spaces assigned?
Sellers will be notified of their space assignments via email a couple of days prior to the event.
Is there a residency requirement?
No, people living in all local zip codes may participate.
What can sellers sell in their space?
Sellers may only sell their gently used items including housewares, clothing and other items found around their home. Sellers MAY NOT sell food, new items or brand name merchandise.
How big is each spot?
The spots are approximately 8’ x 19’.
Can sellers sell food?
NO! Sellers MAY NOT sell any food or drink items.
Are restrooms available?
Yes, the Senior Center restrooms will be available to sellers and event visitors.
Can sellers leave the items that don’t sell?
No, all unsold items and trash must be removed by the seller by 2:30 p.m.
Where do sellers park their cars?
After unloading, sellers may park on the south side of the Senior Center parking lot.
How early can sellers set up?
Sellers may set up their space no earlier than 6:00 a.m. on the day of the sale.
Will change be available?
No, sellers are responsible for providing/handling their own change.
Will electricity be available?
No, electricity will not be available to sellers.
Will shade / Ez Ups be provided?
No, but sellers are welcome to bring EZ-ups, provided they fit within the seller’s spot.
What happens if one of my items is lost or stolen?
The City is not responsible for items that may be lost or stolen.
Are food & Drinks available for purchase?
Yes, coffee, water, soda, donuts and assorted snacks will be available for purchase from event staff.
