COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS CLUB Activity Organizer: Yongran Huang Email: yrhus2015@gmail.com Dates: Mondays Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 8–12 Description: The Computational Mathematics Club aims to create an engaging and educational environment to foster a better understanding of using computers to solve mathematics problems. We will solve problems in mathematics that cannot or are very inefficient to do by hand, such as the computation of eigenvalues for large matrices and a few famous problems where computers were used to solve the problem. Not only will we be providing a hands-on approach to students to get them to discover the world of computer-aided proofs and solutions, but we will also provide the context in which these problems were created, such as some problems’ real-world applications.
