Drum circles are popping up everywhere! Learn the difference between facilitated vs. freestyle, discuss circle etiquette, and discover easy techniques to help you “find the beat." Be prepared to drum and have FUN! No experience needed. Registration closes at noon on 10/2. Bring your own djembe-style hand drum. If you need to borrow a drum for the class, please mention it at registration. Drums will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Patsy Onatah, founder of the Humble Drum and host of the Southern Maine Community Drum Circles, has been offering drum circles in New England for almost 20 years in a community setting, at wellness retreats, schools, libraries, and veterans’ and assisted living centers. As a member of the Drum Circle Facilitator Guild and a Health Rhythms-trained facilitator, she believes in the power of rhythm to enhance communication, bring a deeper awareness of self, and in the case of community drum circles, create a sense of togetherness through shared rhythms.
