Step into the audition room with confidence! Audition Intensive: Building Your Musical Theatre Audition Book is a focused 12-week course designed for high school performers who are ready to master the musical theatre audition process in a supportive and driven environment. In this hour-long weekly masterclass, students will learn the essential skills needed to curate, prepare, and execute a standout audition. Through personalized vocal coaching and mock auditions, the class explores how to select the right repertoire for your unique voice and type, effectively cut and mark sheet music, and communicate clearly with an accompanist. Students will also dive into the acting behind the music, learning how to pursue clear character objectives and tell a complete story within a 16- or 32-bar cut. Fostering an encouraging yet challenging atmosphere, this intensive demystifies the often-intimidating audition experience. Performers will practice taking redirection, managing performance nerves, and finding their authentic presence to make a memorable, professional impression on any casting team. Over the semester, students will build a versatile audition binder and refine their best contrasting pieces, culminating in a final mock-audition showcase for family and friends on the last day of class. Whether you are prepping for college theatre program auditions, your school's spring musical, or local community theatre casting, this class will equip you with the tools and the repertoire to shine when it matters most.
