In this hands-on class, students will create their own 12-inch couture collection, from fashion sketches to finished garments. Young designers will experiment with fabrics, colors, textures, hairstyles, and accessories while learning basic fashion design concepts and developing their own creative style. The session ends with a fashion show to showcase their creations. Each student will take home a fashion model doll along with the garments and sketches created during the class. Mr. Juan holds a BFA in Illustration from Pratt Institute and has extensive experience in fashion, illustration, and design. He worked as a promotion designer for Seventeen magazine and as a fashion sketch artist for the fashion and beauty industries, including L'Oréal. He taught at FIDM for two decades and has also taught with MBUSD and PVPUSD. Mr. Juan is a popular instructor with Dapplegray’s Arts Alive program, where students have enjoyed his hands-on fashion design experience. There will be no class on Monday, September 21. This class will meet for 9 sessions.
