In this fun and nurturing course, artist Stephen Florimbi invites you to see the world in new ways and cultivate your voice as a painter. All skill levels welcome. We will begin with the fundamentals of drawing and visual perception then build to fully realized paintings, all from life. In each class the instructor will introduce a new skill, such as mark-making or color mixing, with a short slide presentation and lecture followed by hands-on exercises. We will cover value, color, texture, composition, and more. Instructor Stephen Florimbi trained in traditional painting and drawing at the University of New Hampshire. His paintings have been exhibited in Maine, Connecticut, New York, and Singapore. Now focused on painting en plein air, his award-winning, loose brushwork and impressionistic style have earned him juried acceptance into the Adirondack Plein Air Festival, Cape Elizabeth Paint for Preservation, and Plein Air Litchfield (CT).
