About this event
Participation in the arts—music, dance, visual arts—as a maker/doer is a universal human activity—not an elite practice reserved for a privileged, trained, or talented few. Recent scientific research has shown it is good for our health, especially healthy aging! At this free, one-night presentation come learn what the research says and experience for yourself how a few minutes of creative activity, especially when done in a group, can have a positive affect on how you feel both physically and emotionally. All materials included. There is no charge for this class but please register as space is limited. Instructor Barbara Davis, MSW, MFA, REAT, LCSW, is a therapist, artist, and educator with degrees from RISD and Rutgers University. She discovered the healing power of the arts as a teenager and has since dedicated her career to exploring its benefits for mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
