About this event
This 4-hour introductory course is designed for new or inexperienced firearm owners who want to build a safe, confident foundation before handling or using firearms on their own. Students will learn the core rules of firearm safety, basic firearm types and functions, safe handling procedures, loading and unloading concepts, range etiquette, storage considerations, and the responsibilities that come with firearm ownership. The course is taught in a controlled, judgment-free environment and is appropriate for students with little or no prior firearms experience. Emphasis is placed on safety, confidence, responsible decision-making, and understanding how firearms work before progressing into live-fire training. By the end of the class, students should be able to identify common firearm types, explain and apply the universal safety rules, safely handle an unloaded firearm under instructor supervision, understand basic ammunition and storage considerations, and know what next steps to take for continued training.
