Description

If you’ve ever looked at an official NRCS Soil Map and a Soil Series profile description, you no doubt (1) were confused by the complexity, (2) thought to yourself that this stuff is for experts only, and (3) were convinced that something so detailed must be the final word. You were wrong about all three. You can learn to see through the complexity and find the important stuff you’re looking for. You don’t need a graduate degree or 10 years of experience to do this. And the NRCS description and accompanying map are where you start in understanding the soil of a site, not where you finish.
The goal of this winter workshop is to peel away the layers of complexity and learn to ask the right questions about soils. Join us this winter as we learn how and where to start our journey of understanding.
