Description

Historically and currently, fragmentation of land has been a common sight, creating a patchwork of land use not suitable for wildlife nor water. Learn the recent updates and partnerships on the Nippersink Creek Phase 5 project to restore the cohesion of land and water this spring. This project is part of an area known to be the 3rd largest conservation landscape in the Chicago Region, encompassing 5,600 acres, which was recently acquired last spring. Experts from Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge and the Conservation District will be sharing insight about this significant place. Be expected to hike in and out about 1mile from parking area to project site. Water proof boots are encouraged. Dress for the spring weather.
