Level II is where you stop memorizing and start inspecting. This is the second half of the Smog Check Inspector program, built for students who already have the foundation and are ready for the material that actually shows up on the state exam and in the inspection bay. You will work through advanced emission control systems, OBD II diagnostics and readiness monitors, tailpipe and evaporative testing, BAR OIS operation, and the inspection procedures and documentation standards the state holds you to. Every night runs on real vehicles with live data, not slides. You walk out ready to sit the state exam and ready to inspect on day one. You must have completed Smog Check Inspector Level I at MAT, or hold equivalent training or experience that we verify before you attend.
