Description
Were you a previous lifeguard for us? Do you have a current lifeguard certification with Red Cross or Ellis and Associates? This is the class for you. This course is a hybrid course that will include online coursework (required for entry into class), and in-person dryland and water skills. The skills will include but are not limited to First Aid / CPR, and in-water individual and group skills. There will be a written test, as well as any updates from our lifeguard licensing company StarGuard Elite. **Important information about the class: Please bring your lifeguard book (online access only), your pocket mask, a hip pack, a swimsuit, and a pen or pencil. If you don’t have a hip pack or pocket mask, we will provide it to you on the day of your class. If you are not feeling well, we ask you to stay home. This course is for people who were previous lifeguards for Portland Parks and Recreation who have expired OR have a current lifeguard certification with Red Cross or Ellis and Associates. We must have a record of you being a previous lifeguard for Portland Parks and Recreation or you must show current certification with another lifeguard agency to be allowed in this class.
