The Competitive Squad program is designed for dedicated athletes seeking advanced training and competitive opportunities in lifesaving sport. In a high-performance training environment, participants will focus on refining technical skills, enhancing race execution, and developing the physical conditioning required for success at the provincial and national levels. Through structured coaching and progressive training, athletes will continue to build speed, endurance, strength, and overall athletic performance.
Athletes will work with coaches to master advanced lifesaving sport events, including Line Throw, Obstacle Swim, Manikin Tow, and Manikin Carry, while developing efficient transitions, race strategies, and competition-specific skills. Training emphasizes individual and team event performance, athlete development, and preparation for higher-level competition pathways. Participants will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to regular training, personal fitness development, and competition participation.
Prerequisites: Athletes must hold a minimum Bronze Medallion and be a Registered Athlete. Athletes should have strong swimming fitness and endurance, as well as previous lifesaving sport experience (Or coaches recommendation).
Recommended Requirements: Athletes are to commit to regular training and competition. Athletes interested in pursuing provincial and national lifesaving sport competition titles.
