Description

Looking to improve existing skating skills and become a more competent skater? Participants will improve their forward skating technique, learn how to backwards skate, snowplow stop, one foot glide and improve edge work.

• Register for only one class per set
• Helmet made for ice sport mandatory
• Skates and helmet included in program fee

Prerequisite: Completion of Adult Level 1 or by drop in assessment during public skates. For further assessment information contact skating@portcoquitlam.ca.

• Approx. 20 min prior to class to acquire and put on equipment

Bring:

• Gloves for safety as well as warmth
• Helmet made for ice sport required, bike helmets not made for ice
• Skate and helmet rental free with registered lesson

Helpful tips:

• Allow adequate time prior to lessons to acquire and put on equipment
• Choose approx. 2 sizes smaller than shoes for hockey skates and same size as shoes for figure skates
