EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHER APPLICATION PERIOD FOR SPRINGBOARD DANSE'S SUMMER PROJECT 2026 OPENS ON NOVEMBER, 15, 2025 AND CLOSES ON DECEMBER 15, 2025 As a commitment to facilitate and showcase the work of today’s up-and-coming choreographers, the Emerging Choreographer Program annually provides 6 curated dance makers with creative resources, including the awe-inspiring dancers selected to participate in the Summer Project (May 24 - June 12, 2026), studio space for both independent research and collaborative rehearsal, and the opportunity to present work alongside Springboard’s Principal Companies during the Summer Project. The Emerging Choreographer Program provides selected artists with 27 hours of studio space and the opportunity to present work alongside our Principal Companies. Incorporated within this unique professional development opportunity, Springboard provides each Emerging Choreographer with a cast of versatile dancers, who may become future collaborators, in an environment that stimulates and facilitates the creative process. Springboard’s Emerging Choreographers have historically represented a myriad of voices, highlighting the many perspectives that comprise our ecosystem. We believe that the dance community and world at-large disproportionately favor the experiences, perspectives, and aesthetics of those from privileged backgrounds, leaving many stories untold and unwitnessed. In its selection of dance makers, Springboard does not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender, race, sexual orientation, color, national origin, socioeconomic background, or any other protected characteristic.
