Join local artist, Mindy Flexer, to create a magical reading cafe! Young artists will have a chance to make books of all kinds: picture books, story books, manga, and sculptural pop-up books. They will also make posters, windows and curtains, beanbag chairs and pillows, café food and dishes, and whatever else we can imagine for a cozy café visitors can curl up and read in. Artists will get to draw, paint, make prints, sew, and sculpt, with plenty of freedom and support for following their own interests. They will be able to work independently or collaboratively. Our creations will become part of the "All Hands Reading Cafe," an installation in Woodmere’s Helen Millard Children’s Gallery this September. Camp will run for two weeks. Each week will be different, so you can sign up for one or both. Please note: -Lunch is included for this camp. A menu will be shared as camp approaches.
