First Day Hikes are free, guided hikes offered each year on New Year’s Day. The hikes are intended to promote an alternate way of celebrating the New Year by going outside, getting some exercise, and enjoying local nature and history. Start your year off on the right foot by joining our knowledgeable park rangers, naturalists, and volunteers in one of our County’s beautiful parks.
Join Ranger Gavin for an adventurous hike around the natural surface trails at Beachwood Park. Discover the hidden beauty of nature during the winter season. Spot winter wildlife and enjoy views of the Magothy River. Beachwood Park has a portable bathroom available in the parking lot.
Sturdy footwear, binoculars, cameras, and a water bottle are recommended. Please dress for the weather. This program is free, but registration is required.
For more information, contact Park Ranger Gavin Wilson-Fernandez at rpwils25@aacounty.org or 410-222-6248.
