CDL/Commercial Drivers License Training Class A training includes 78 hours theory, 26 hours lab, 44 hours behind the wheel (road and range) driving. Class B training includes 42 hours theory, 26 hours lab, 30 hours behind the wheel including 20 hours road and 10 hours range driving. Class B to A Upgrade training includes 40 hours theory, demonstrated competency lab, road and range vehicle operation. Instructor determines student competency through skills assessments. Commercial Bus Driver Training The Commercial Bus Drivers License (Class B) Bus prepares students to meet the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles Class B School Bus driving requirements and consists of online theory instruction and 30 hours of driving to prepare for the State written and road exams.
