Get ready to think like a farmer, entrepreneur, and environmental leader! In this hands-on camp, students will take on the “10-Acre Challenge,” where they are tasked with designing how to use a newly acquired 10-acre parcel of land for their school. Through visits to local farms, forests, and community food systems, students will explore real-world careers in agriculture, natural resources, and sustainability. Working in teams, campers will develop a land-use plan. The experience culminates in a team proposal where students pitch their vision for the future of their land. Visits to local agriculture sites (crop farms, livestock operations, agritourism) Exploration of forestry and conservation practices Learning about community gardens and local food systems Interaction with industry professionals in agriculture and natural resources Team-based “10-Acre Challenge” with a real-world design problem Creating a land-use plan, simple budget, and proposal Final team presentations sharing their vision and ideas Clothing requirements for safety: ** Participants are required to wear closed toe shoes. Lunch is provided
