About this event

Description

Learn to write original sitcom scripts from the ground up. This hands-on 8-week course covers sitcom structure, character relationships, comic premises, dialogue, escalation, and punch-up, taking students from idea to outline to finished script pages. By the end, each student will have completed either a full first-draft half-hour episode or a polished first act. The course culminates in a staged reading at TC Media's studio, where scenes from student scripts are performed and recorded. Students will hear their material read aloud and see firsthand how jokes, character chemistry, and scene structure play out on their feet. Brian Kahn is a veteran comedy writer with over 30 years of professional experience in sitcom and sketch, with credits at NBC, Paramount, Nickelodeon, and FOX Entertainment. . Instructor: Brian Kahn
