About this event
Our Intermediate Keelboat Sailing course is a great place for students who understand the basics of sailing but are looking for more time to practice skills, learn more intermediate concepts and get additional time on the water. The course curriculum is flexible and can be tailored to our students' needs but may include fine tuning sail trim and shape, an introduction to performance sailing and even an introduction to racing concepts including sailing with spinnakers. This class is taught on our J24 Keelboats which are a large enough vessel to avoid the risk of capsize but small enough to still provide the reactiveness of a dinghy. While we do not have specific prerequisites, we recommend this class for students who have taken our Intro to Keelboat sailing course or a similar course elsewhere in the last year or so. Students should be able to tell where the wind is coming from, understand the wind clock and points of sail, know how to tack and gybe and have a basic understanding of rigging.
