About this event
When an emergency occurs, mobility challenges, hearing, learning, or seeing disabilities can add complications. Get practical advice on staying informed, making a plan, assembling a kit, and keeping your plans up-to-date. Join us to learn about the elevated risks faced by people with access and functional needs during disaster events and how you and your loved ones can prepare for emergencies. Please let us know if you will be attending live session or via Microsoft Teams. The American Red Cross helps people during emergencies, but part of their mission is to also help you help yourself! Becoming “Red Cross Ready” for an emergency means following simple steps in advance to ensure you can weather a crisis safely. Being prepared may not prevent a disaster, but it will give you confidence to meet the challenge.
