Designed for absolute beginners! Whether you've never held a crochet hook or tried once and gave up, this class meets you exactly where you are. Move at a comfortable pace with plenty of time to practice each skill until it feels natural. Start from the very beginning: understanding yarn weights, choosing the right hook size, and getting comfortable holding your materials. From there, we build a solid foundation of essential stitches through guided repetition. By the end of the course, you'll have real, usable stitches and a beginner project started or completed to take home. Required: Bring one skein of solid light- or medium-colored medium/worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn (avoid variegated or dark colors—suggested brands: Lion Brand Wool-Ease, Red Heart Super Saver, Caron Simply Soft), a 5.0mm (H/8) or 5.5mm (I/9) crochet hook (ergonomic rubber-grip hooks are highly recommended), small scissors, and a notepad/pen. Optional: Small project bag or zippered pouch to keep your supplies together and a yarn/tapestry needle (blunt-tip, large eye). Renee Parker works full time as an instructional designer.
