Begin at the historic Ojai Valley Museum before setting out on a guided walk through downtown Ojai. From the museum, we’ll head to the Arcade, continue down Montgomery Street to the trail and the old jail site and visit the former railroad station location on Fox Street. Along the way, we’ll focus on the people and events that shaped the town’s colorful past — including Erle Stanley Gardner’s only murder case tried in Nordhoff before the town’s name change, and the dramatic 1919 gunfight at the Arcade that left a man dead in the street. We’ll also uncover stories of Ojai’s Prohibition-era speakeasy (not that it was ever too hard to find a drink in old Ojai), with just a touch of local ghost lore woven in. This walk is all about the real characters, true crime, and lively history that gave Ojai its unique spirit. All tickets are non-refundable.
