Caregiving for a loved one is a profound responsibility that can leave little space for rest, reflection, and personal renewal. Art & Care is a weekly creative sanctuary designed specifically for individuals navigating the demands of caregiving. This class offers participants a dedicated environment to step away from their daily care duties, decompress, and engage in meaningful self-care through visual art. Using versatile, vibrant oil pastels and basic printmaking techniques, participants will explore color, texture, and creative expression without the pressure of formal technique or perfectionism. Each session opens with guided demonstrations to introduce fundamental oil pastel and printmaking methods, followed by continuous inspiration drawn from fresh floral bouquets, curated still life arrangements, and art reference books. Designed for all skill levels: from complete beginners to experienced makers, this workshop prioritizes the restorative process of art-making, fostering both personal relaxation and a supportive community of peers who share the caregiving journey. Who is this class for? Anyone who is a medical caregiver to an immediate family member All supplies are provided, there is no cost to attend this course. Arabella works in various mediums including oil paints, oil sticks, and oil pastels. Utilizing an impasto painting technique, Arabella adds texture and depth to her work, making the energy of her experiences and her art process visible. Arabella communicates the intense vitality of the world around her through her expressionistic colour palette and on the surfaces of her work.
