What happens when a world-famous composer is inspired by a bird? In this intriguing class, we’ll take a glimpse into the curious story behind Mozart's Starling and a chance encounter that caught the attention of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1784. A simple trip to the market led to a discovery he found “beautiful”—and perhaps even musically familiar. Join us as we explore this unexpected connection between nature and music, and uncover the story behind a very unusual companion.

Instructed by Ms. Timshel Purdum, Deputy Director of Education at the Science Museum of Virginia and a Virginia Master Naturalist.
