3 Wednesdays, May 13 - 27, 1 :00 - 3:00 pm More Adventures in Collage Taught by Mary Jane Arden, 18+ $66 Member / $ 73 Non-member A brand new collage class featuring three new projects, mini art history sessions where you'll be introduced to famous collage artists, past and present, and more collage tips and tricks. If you can use scissors, you can collage! At the end of this three-week course, students will have created three original collages to take home and enjoy! Sharp scissors, x-act knife, mixed media pad of paper (like Strathmore 400 series-11" x 14"), cardboard or small self-healing sewing mat to cut on, 2-4 high-quality magazines (like Nat Geo), 3 glue sticks (Elmers Purple School is preferred) You'll enjoy and have fun in this class, whether you are an experienced collage artist or brand new to this medium! The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. After earning a BFA from the University of Delaware, Mary Jane spent her career as an exhibit designer for a museum and as a graphic designer in higher education. In addition to her full-time job, she taught User-Centered Design at Wilmington University for ten years and graphics and drawing at Delaware Tech. These days, she has three artistic pursuits: fabricating primitive sculptures, creating collages, and writing.
