3 Wednesdays, Aug 5, 19, and 26, 12:30-2:30pm Make a Teddy (for adults) Taught by Jodi Morello, ages 18+ Slow down and enjoy the process of making something truly special. In this three-week class, adult students will create a handmade teddy bear from start to finish while learning foundational hand sewing techniques along the way. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a beautifully crafted keepsake—perfect as a gift or a personal heirloom. No prior experience required. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Jodi knew by the age of five that she wanted to be an artist. Recently, a member of NYC’s fiber arts community commissioned Jodi to weave a tapestry of Pearl Chin, who started the business Knitty City on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. A shot of this work appears in an award-winning film, “Summer At Knitty City.” She sold her first tapestry, “Medusa”, to a curious art lover on Facebook.
