2 Saturdays, September 12 - 19, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Ignite Your Creativity Taught by Jamilyn Ambrosky., 18+ 2 part series: This class will explore what it means to connect with your inner child and how that connection fuels creativity. Through discussion, journaling, and hands-on art making with crayons, markers, and acrylic paint, you’ll experiment freely—no perfection, pressure, or prior art experience required. First session: Brain Dump journaling/Art Activities/Create a measurable goal(s) towards continuing your creative journey/Discussion Second session: Brain dump journaling/Art Activities/ Review creative goal(s)/Tips to maintain a creative self-care practice based in art making/Discussion Bring a journal or notebook, student decides the size as we will create right in our journals. This class is perfect for anyone looking to: -Reignite creative joy - Push past self-doubt or artistic “blocks” - Tap into imagination through playful expression -Reconnect with lost parts of themselves - Build a deeper creative self-care practice The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Jamilyn Marie Ambrosky has always loved art. Stemming from a love of color brought out by her kindergarten teacher, Jamilyn’s style has blossomed over the years from the whimsical to the abstract. Formally trained in psychology and occupational therapy, Jamilyn has incorporated art into her therapy sessions as a way to bring out the creative spark for all ages. Combining art and self-care is an essential tool in her toolbox. Additional hobbies include reading (mostly historical and fantasy fiction), creative writing, yoga and spending time with animals in nature.
